Obituary of Sam Sanjabi

KOHSROW (SAM) BAKHTIAR SANJABI Sam Sanjabi of Chico passed away Wednesday, September 25th. He passed peacefully at home in the loving care of his wife, son, daughter, brothers, sisters, and grandchil-dren. He was born in Tehran, Iran in 1937 to Dr. Karim Sanjabi and Fahkry Ardalan Sanjabi. He immigrated to the United States as a young man who fell in love with freedom of the USA. He was a successful entrepreneur starting with franchising the original Chico Denny's (now Jacks), inventing the Grand Slam breakfast, then grew to building and owning the Joby's restaurants, one on the corner of Mangrove and Cohasset and one in Corning. He then owned and worked almond, walnut, and rice ranches around the greater Chico area in the 80's. He lived in Chico for 50 years. He turned his greatest expertise, hobby and passion of big game hunting into a business in 1990: Trophy Ammo. He developed custom ammunition for serious big game hunters to make a perfect, powerful shot, every time. He is world renown for his work at Trophy Ammo. He is survived by his loving wife Lola, his son and daughter, and two grandsons. Service will be at Glen Oak Memorial at 10:00 AM Tuesday October 1.
