Obituary of Junior Tracy Tripp

TRACY TRIPP A celebration of the life of Junior Tracy Tripp, 88 of Paradise, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Paradise Senior Center. He passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in Paradise. Tracy was born March 4, 1921 to Tracy and Ruby Tripp in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1944 he enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Pacific Theater where he operated a landing craft at the battle of Iwo Jima. After WWII he completed his masters degree from Springfield, Ill. In 1948 he married Virginia Lee Souders. Tracy was a high school principal in Scottsdale, AZ for 15 years and in Paradise for 15 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed spending time at the coast, gardening and playing golf. His survivors include his daughter, Sherrie Fanning of Chico; son, John Tripp of Chico; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and his companion, Kathy Ryon of Paradise. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia in 1993 and his son, Larry Tripp in 2004.
