Obituary of Dorothy Elaine Husa

DOROTHY HUSA A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Dorothy Elaine Husa, 68 of Chico, on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church. Viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, July 8, 2009 at the church. Dorothy passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Enloe Hospital. She was born August 25, 1940 in Ontario, CA to Charles and Rosalie Serl. Dorothy graduated from Chino High School and attended Chaffey College. On August 31, 1960 she married Ron Husa in Las Vegas, NV and then married him again on April 1, 1961 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Etiwanda, CA. They lived in Cucamonga until 1974 when they moved to Chico. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and shooting sports. She was a member of the Chico Rod and Gun Club, had been a Girl Scout Leader and was a member of Our Divine Savior Catholic Church. Her survivors include her husband of 48 years, Ron Husa of Chico; daughters, Susan (Timothy) McSorley of Somerset, Sally Husa of Chico; mother, Rosalie Serl of Ontario; sister, Norma Willey of Mira Loma; brother, Don (Evonne) Serl of Riverside; four grandchildren, Madelaine, Mitchell, Macklin and Meridith McSorley all of Somerset; and two dogs, Snowy and Soxie.
