Obituary of Marjorie J. McNair

Marjorie Englefield McNair, age 99, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 at Paradise Hospice House. Born in Gridley in 1909, she lived all her life in Butte County and taught school in Hamilton City and Chico. Marge was one of the oldest living graduates of California State University, Chico (Chico State Teacher's College) where she lived at Bidweli Mansion. She was a 20 year member of Enloe Medical Center Guild. Marge married Palmer McNair in 1942, who preceded her passing in 1999. She has six dedicated grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Gilchrist (Kent) and Marsha Ebert (Mike). A family graveside service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Chico Cemetery.
