Obituary of Esther Mae Badger

ESTHER MAE BADGER January 4, 1921-April 5, 2008 Graveside services for Esther Badger, 87, of Chico will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 9, 2008 at Chico Cemetery. She passed away April 5, 2008 in Chico. She was born in Springfield, Ill. and completed Business College there before marrying George M. Badger who preceded her in death in 1996. Esther followed her husband from home to home during World War II to settle in Ellwood City, Pa. following the war. The family moved to Palo Alto, Calif. in the mid 1950's and then to Chico in the mid 1960's. Esther worked for many years at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Chico before her retirement. And for more than 50 years, she cheered for the Pittsburgh Pirates National League Baseball team. She is survived by her two children, Leigh Badger of Chico, and Nancy Baer of Vancouver, Wash. and son-in-law Kerry Baer. Her only grandchild, Jennifer L.
