Obituary of Lawrence Edward Eastman
LAWRENCE EDWARD
EASTMAN
Lawrence (Larry) Eastman went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2009. A native Chicoan, Larry was born on December 24, 1917.
He proudly served his country during World War II. After returning from service in 1946, Larry worked as an independent commercial hauler for Christian & Johnson, Continental Nut Company and Modern Building Company. In 1958, Larry went to work as a Driver and Maintenance Supervisor for B. Puritz Oil Company, owners of the local Hancock Service Stations. In 1985, Larry retired from 18-wheelers and enjoyed many happy camping trips with his wife, Gerry; their cat, K. C.; their children and grandchildren. Larry loved sharing his love of the mountains and trout fishing with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gerry; his daughters and son-in-laws, Sheri and Chris Baker and Lari Jean and Larry Day; three grandsons and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his son, William Eastman and step-daughter, Donna Westlake. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed every day until we are reunited again in Heaven.
Larry's life and service to his country will be honored at a graveside service at the Veterans Court at Glen Oaks Memorial Park on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.
Services are under the direction of Bidwell Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at bidwellchapel.com
