Obituary of Hillard M. Lee

Hillard "Bud" Lee died at Enloe Hospital May 1, 2008 with his family by his side. He was born in Sacramento, CA on February 10, 1920 to Charles and Harriet Lee. He graduated from McClatchy High School in Sacramento. Bud served in the U S Army during WWII in the Aleutian Islands. Following an Honorable Discharge, he joined his parents in the dry cleaning business. When they sold the business, he managed a coin operated Laundromat. The last years of his career were spent as a custodian security at Cal State University Chico. Bud was a member of the Oroville I.O.O.F. Lodge and past Grand. In January of 1949 he married Elva Howard, they were married 47 years. Bud is survived by his step-daughters, Cathy Delaney and Irene Bruggman both of Chico, and his step-son, Norman (Evelyn) Howard of Lincoln, CA. He also has ten surviving grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren. He also has a good friend, Harriet Christiansen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva and his parents, Charles and Harriet Lee. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. and a funeral service on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 11 a.m., both at Bidwell Chapel, followed by a burial at Chico Cemetery.
