Obituary of Wayman H. Shepherd

WAYMAN H. "SHEP" SHEPHERD Services are pending for Wayman Shepherd, 89, of Corning. Wayman passed away March 24, 2009 in Chico. He was born on January 25, 1920 in Chico to Isiah and Mary Shepherd. Wayman served in the Army Air Corp from 1944-1946. He attended Chico schools, graduating from Chico High School. Wayman is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Shepherd. Wayman was employed by Diamond Int. and Louisiana Pacific in which he retired. His memberships include B.P.O.E Elks of Paradise, the Paradise Moose Lodge and Paradise Men's Bowling Assn. Wayman loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He truly loved his job. He was a creative exacting woodworker. He loved his family and friends. Wayman enjoyed bowling and working in his yard. He is survived by daughters, Kara Lockie of Corning, Anne McIntosh of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren, Wendy Olson, Christopher McIntosh, Melissa Lockie, Grant Lockie; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Shreve of Chico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
