Obituary of Phyllis Evelyn Whiting

Phyllis Evelyn Whiting PHYLLIS EVELYN WHITING A casual Celebration of the Life of Phyllis Evelyn Whiting will be held Thursday April 23, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the 5 mile in Bidwell Park here in Chico. Phyllis passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at the age of 80. Born in Buffalo, New York to Edward and Evelyn Murray August 2, 1928. She was sister to Donald W. Murray of Ormond Beach, FL, and Carol Ann Nickerson of Depew, New York. Phyllis was a loving wife for over 50 years to her husband, Thomas W. Whiting. Loving mother of Cheryl Ann Hourguettes of Florence, MS , and Scott T. Whiting of Chico, CA; proud mother-in-law of Deni L. Whiting and Jack Hourguettes; and proud grandmother of Jeramy Rollings, and Zack and Josh Whiting. Phyllis was active in community affairs, was a member of Chico newcomers club, Lady Elks, Enloe volunteers, worked in the Enloe Hospital gift shop, was a past member of the Creative Art Studio, and MADD - Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. She also volunteered at the Rooks soccer games and was a great supporter of the Butte Human Society. She was also a devoted fan of the Chico Heat and Outlaw baseball teams.
