Obituary of Jeanette Virginia Blake

JEANNE BLAKE Jeanne Blake, age 87 of Chico passed on May 8, 2008 at Riverside Convalescent Hospital. Jeanne was born Oct. 14, 1920 to Adam and Sophie Dygon in Valparaiso, Ind. She attended Bradley High School in Chicago, where she had a great interest in theatre. Jeanne married Spencer N. Blake in 1947 and they spent 52 years together. She worked at the California State University, Chico Computer Center, where she gave Instructional Support. She retired from the CSU Computer Dept. Jeanne was a member of Professional Secretaries International, Chico Chapter; Elks Ladies, Retired Public Employees Association, California State Employees Association, and was a longtime member of Discovery Shoppe League. She is survived by daughter, Yvonne (Ron) Schwager; grandsons, Blake Anderson, and Beau (Holli) Anderson; great-granddaughter, Venice; stepgrandchildren, Elan (Jason) Bagwill, and Mac Schwager; and stepgreat-grandchild, Ethan Bagwill, all of Chico. She is also survived by daughter, Paula Blake of San Anselmo. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. The Glen Oaks Cemetery Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., (please note the correction of the date and time from Tuesday's Edition) with reception following at 29 Arminta Court.
