Obituary of Shirley Louise Osburg

Shirley Louise Osburg entered this world April 5, 1938 in Deerfield, Missouri. She was born to Dick and Dortha Robison as their second child. They moved together as a family from Missouri to California in 1945. They settled in Campbell, California. Shirley attend Campbell High School where she graduated a proud Buccaneer Class of 1956. She met her husband Butch at age 13 and they were married age 18, he was the love of her life.

On May 21st 2022 she joined her parents Dortha and Dick, her sister Ruby, her husband Butch and son Vernon Jay on the spiritual plane. Shirley is survived by 3 of her four children, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She will fondly be remembered by the countless friends that she considered family. Those she welcomed into her life and invited into her home. If you were amongst those lucky enough to be called “friend” by Shirley, you knew that you truly were a part of her family. Shirley spent her entire life compassionately caring for those around her. She raised her children to be kind, compassionate people, she was so proud of her whole family.

Shirley loved to travel and sew. She love a cruise and the adventure mixed with decorum and pageantry that cruises of years gone by used to offer. Her sewing room was always the crown jewel of her home. All of her children and grandchildren wore pajamas handmade by her. Shirley was a force, like many mothers that came to be in 1950’s, she honored the tradition of dinner by 6 with her kids and her husband sitting around  the table. She juggled marriage, 4 kids and a career. She kept her family tight because that is what meant the most to her. She was a modern day superwoman with the way she lived her life. Her life was legendary to those who knew her and her legacy is carried on by them.

Shirley was 84 years young.

A celebration of her life will be held at her home on June 11th from noon to 4pm. Private burial to follow at a later date
