Obituary of Jack Dorsey Maddock

Jack Dorsey Maddock, age 79, passed away on July 29, 2022, at Compass Rose, in Chico, CA. He was born on March 17, 1943 in Long Beach, Ca.  His wife of nearly 58 years, Carole Lee Maddock, passed away on April 17, 2022.  Jack had two daughters, Stacy Schimmel born on April 10, 1967 in Long Beach, Ca. and Julie Coulombe born on July 1, 1969 in Chico, Ca. Jack and Carole moved to Chico from Long Beach in 1968.  Jack worked as a truck driver for System 99, Yellow Freight, Consolidated Trucking and finally at ABF trucking, from which he retired.  Stacy and her husband Matt, and Julie and her husband Kevin, live in Chico along with Jack’s 4 grandchildren Dylan, Haylee and Abby Schimmel and Kate Coulombe.  Jack loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed trips out of state to hunt with friends.  Jack loved spending time at his cabin in Prattville with his family where he loved to deep-fry his Thanksgiving turkey and teach his grandkids how to shoot his BB gun.  His favorite tradition was Christmas’s spent with entire family and dressing up as Santa Claus to surprise the grandkids on Christmas morning.  Jack and Carole will be laid to rest together in a private family burial.
