Obituary of Isabell Palana Hovey

Isabell P. Hovey was a generous and caring person.  She left this world on Dec. 18, 2022 at the age of 97.  She was born in Chico on June 9, 1925 and remained in Chico her entire life.  She was the last survivor of her six brothers and five sisters.  She worked at Tri-Co Nut Co, which became Tenico as an almond sorter.

She was married to LeRoy Hovey for nearly 50 years before he passed in 1994.  Together they had two children, Roy Hovey and Jerry Hovey, currently residing in Chico.  She has three grandchildren: Troy, Tammy and Jason, and five great grandchildren.

After retiring she and her husband did a motor route for the Chico Enterprise Record up Honey Run Rd for several years in the 80’s.

She loved to be in her yard gardening, cooking her favorite meals, going to the ocean, and spending time with her family.  After her health declined, she enjoyed doing word search puzzles and cherished time with her family.
