Obituary of Edith Alene Prieheim

Edie Prieheim passed away peacefully in her home on March 9, 2023. She was born in Chico on April 30, 1932 to Lee and Maude Hutler.

She graduated from Chico High School in 1950.

Edie was naturally a people person and enjoyed her work as a telephone operator, front counter person at Orchard Lanes and as a teller at First Interstate Bank. She met “Mick” Prieheim at Orchard Lanes and on June 24, 1973 they were married.

Edie treasured being a mother and grandmother, loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and enjoyed traveling, cruises, bowling, golfing, and reading.

Edie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Frederick “Mick” Prieheim of Chico;  three daughters, Cindi Moore of Chico, Michelle Harris of Austin , TX, and Lori Lawrence of San Antonio, TX; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and her ex-husband Harmon Wright. Edie was preceded in death by her daughter Vicki Gregory; one sister Nadine Smith, and three brothers, John, Ed and Jim Hutler.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 pm Thursday, March 16th at Brusie Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1450 East Lassen Avenue in Chico.
