Obituary of Evonne Wilks

Evonne Hansen Wilks was born on June 28, 1956, in Chico, California. She spent her early formative years in Herlong, California with her family. In 1973, she graduated from Herlong High School. Later, in 1982, she completed the Cal Fire Basic Wildland Firefighter Academy at Lassen Community College. Throughout her life, Evonne was married to Jerry Wilks for an impressive 42 years. During their time together, they were stationed at Sembach AFB Germany, and K.I. Sawyer AFB MI while serving in the Air Force. After leaving the military, they relocated to various states but always found their way back to California. Evonne often returned to Janesville to assist her parents, demonstrating her dedication to her family.

One of the remarkable adventures that Evonne and Jerry embarked on was driving an eighteen-wheeler across the country, covering thousands of miles. Over the years, they traveled to every state in the United States, witnessing countless breathtaking sights. Despite her petite stature, Evonne took great pride in her ability to handle the massive eighteen-wheelers. She possessed a strong desire to help others and enjoyed creating crochet blankets, which she affectionately referred to as her "Jesus Loves Me Blankets." Evonne was a talented and versatile individual, skilled in various crafts. Notably, she designed and patented a cat gym, showcasing her creativity and ingenuity.

Evonne is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Wilks, her mother, Bertha Hansen, her sister, Pam Rose (Jerry Rose), and her sister, Nanette Carpenter. She also leaves behind her son, Aaronn Hansen, and her daughter, Sheree Martin. From Aaronn, she has six grandchildren, and from Sheree, she has three grandchildren, along with two great-grandchildren. Additionally, Evonne had numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Her family and friends will deeply miss her presence. Evonne was a devout believer in the Lord and passionately shared her faith, spreading the message of His SAVING GRACE to others.
